Publicly addressing the "strong reasons" given by critics of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints so that their "shame shall be made manifest" (D&C 71:7-8) as well as presenting some evidences for the truthfulness of the LDS Church.

In Memoriam
President Gordon B. Hinckley passed away this evening around 7:00 PM MST. He will be truly missed. It will undoubtedly take a day or two for the shock of this incident to pass.
He's the only church president many of us have ever known. He'll be greatly missed.
Thanks for your condolences. I'm confident that the transition will go off smoothly and without debate as it always has. That is one of the things that is so marvelous about the Church.
You know I have been watching byu.tv and seeing the coverage on the passing of President Hinckley (something the major networks way out here in NY are not doing) and I am really taken by the words of reverence and utmost respect people are sharing about him..
Millet was on one show ( I have read some of his books) and he just spoke so eloquently of the man...Now we all talk well of our leaders when they pass, but there is indeed something different about these words and feelings...I can see how greatly the people loved this man.
I believe Pres. Hinckley was unique in a lot of ways even among our LDS presidents. Like all LDS presidents, we view him as a prophet and apostle of Jesus Christ just as much as Peter or Moses. Yet this man also was among the people. He was the people's man. We all felt like we knew him personally on a one-to-one level, although most of us didn't. Yet at the same time we revered and loved him as God's spokesman and as the watchman on the tower. Many people are already comparing him to David O. McKay who is universally recognized as one of the greatest church presidents we've ever had.
I am not a Glenn Beck fan by any means (I am too liberal...:) but occassionally I watch him & last night during his "personal moment" he broke down when speaking of the passing of President Hinckley...
I always find it touching when someone gets emotional about something or someone they care deeply about - but when a guy who is so rough around the egdes gets that way it's a little more touching to me....
That's interesting. I never watch Glenn Beck. Does he come on CNN or what? He's apparently pretty tough on everyone except the far right, I hear. Makes you wonder why such a smart guy became LDS ;)

Just a note to say I am sorry for the loss of this man not only to you who are in the church but also to the world.
I have been impressed with his stature and dedication in the many interviews I have seen of him.
I will keep your church and it's leaders in my prayers as this transition occurs...

Thanks for coming by, Chad.

My computer fritzed on me so I'm retyping this.
